The Oregon Iron Viking
Some people like collecting Cast iron cookware. Some, like myself, just enjoy cooking with it. It can be quite an adventure looking for old cast iron, or one can buy new and use that. Either way is acceptable in my world, although I prefer the older, smoother, lighter cookware.
I am not a cast iron collector. Rather, I am a cook that uses cast iron for most of my cooking and some of my baking. On this site I will post ways I use to strip, clean and season cast pieces that I find in the wild.  I'll also show the pieces that I have in my "working set" as well as some that I've set back for my grandkids.
On the blog, Musings of an Old Geezer, I have many recipes posted. Some can be made using cast iron, some not. I have added a link here to those recipes. They are listed alphabetically as well as by catagory.  Enjoy your visit and come back often!

Recipe of the Week
Sloppy Joes
Not your usual recipe for Sloppy Joes. Sweet, tangy sour, a little spicy...
